Payton Elizabeth Strain

Payton Elizabeth Strain graced this world with her presence on April 22, 2011, bringing an abundance of joy, laughter, and an beautifully spunky spirit to everyone who knew her. A resident of St. Tammany Parish, Payton was a vibrant twelve-year-old whose love for life was a true force to be reckoned with. Her beautiful soul shone brightest when she was surrounded by the people she cherished most. In her free time, Payton could almost always be found outdoors—whether she was riding her beloved horse Jack, playing catcher for her softball team, swimming alongside her dog CeeCee, or dancing to TikToks in the backyard. She was a fiercely loyal and compassionate friend, always the very first person to step up to help someone in need and constantly finding ways to lift others up.

Tragically, on August 20, 2023, Payton’s life was cut short far too soon. The loss left an immeasurable void in the hearts of her family and friends, who miss her deeply every single day. Yet, even in the sudden midst of overwhelming tragedy, her family knew exactly how to honor the generous girl she had always been. Because Payton spent her life putting others first, they knew without a doubt that she would want to continue helping people through the gift of organ donation.

With profound courage and love, her family made Payton a sacred promise: that her life would continue on in others. Through her ultimate, selfless sacrifice, Payton bestowed the gift of life to those in desperate need, allowing her family to transform their immense grief into something beautiful. For her loved ones, organ donation became a vital beacon of hope, ensuring that her passing was not the end of her story.

Though Payton no longer walks beside them, her vibrant spirit carries on. Her family holds her recipients close in their hearts, praying for those families daily and taking great solace in knowing that Payton’s legacy of love, strength, and ultimate generosity lives on through the lives she saved.
