Olivia Kuhn
Olivia Kuhn graced this world with her presence on December 20, 2013, filling it with an abundance of love, joy, and a radiant energy that shone brightly from the inside out. A resident of Vernon Parish, Olivia was a happy, energetic young lady who loved to travel, spend time with her family, and make new friends wherever she went. Whether she was playing outside in the dirt with the butterflies and lizards, collecting and trading Pokémon cards with her dad, or gardening alongside her grandmother, she embraced life with an open heart. She brought endless laughter to her home—especially when she was dancing around the kitchen, making rainbow pancakes on Saturday mornings, or playfully terrorizing her older brother. Known for her lopsided ponytails and a big, beautiful smile that was usually missing a couple of teeth, Olivia dreamed of becoming a movie star and even proudly got to play an extra in a film.
Above all, Olivia loved to give. She gave freely of her smiles, her presents, and her hugs. She possessed a natural, care-giving soul, always stepping up to comfort anyone who was feeling down or coming swiftly to their aid if they were sick. Olivia spent her short time on this earth making the world a better place, constantly living to help others.
Tragically, on December 3, 2022, Olivia was taken from her family far too soon in a sudden and violent loss. There is no feeling quite like that of losing a child, yet out of immense suffering came an extraordinary outpouring of love from family, friends, and strangers alike. This profound embrace grounded her family, bringing them closer together with their community. Inspired by the hands that held them up through their darkest days, they resolved to do exactly what Olivia would have done: remember, and live to help others.
When it came to organ donation, the choice didn't feel like a decision at all—it was simply an extension of who Olivia was. Though it was difficult at first to process the reality of others carrying pieces of her forward, her family found solace in a beautiful truth: Olivia wasn't made of tissue and bone; she was made of love and joy. Her selfless act of donation was the last, greatest gift she gave to this world. Because of her, a young lady or a young man was given the precious opportunity to see their mom, dad, or grandparents for a little while longer.
Through her ultimate gift, Olivia continued her mission of making the world a better place even after her passing. It remains an absolute honor for her family to have given on her behalf, knowing it is exactly what she would have wanted. Only love can come from her memory—no anger, no regret, just an enduring legacy of love and generosity that will continue to touch lives for generations to come.
